Task One - Related Products
The Z-backscatter, produced by American Science and Engineering Inc., is the premier in x-ray technology. It provides clear images that allow for easier and faster interpretation and analysis than previous x-ray machines.

Task Two - Professional Organization
The American Association for Artificial Intelligence, (AAAI), is an organization of over 60,000 members from various companies and universities. Their mission statement is as follows:
"Founded in 1979, the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. AAAI also aims to increase public understanding of artificial intelligence, improve the teaching and training of AI practitioners, and provide guidance for research planners and funders concerning the importance and potential of current AI developments and future directions.
Major AAAI activities include organizing and sponsoring conferences, symposia, and workshops, publishing a quarterly magazine for all members, publishing books, proceedings, and reports, and awarding grants, scholarships, and other honors."
Each year, AAAI recognizes its distinguished members through awards given to honor those who contribute to the advancement of artificial intelligence research.

Task Three - Product Description
There is a growing need for security measures that ensure the safety of the travelers in international airports. It can take up to two hours or more just to get through airport security. Today’s current state of technology isn’t efficient in screening people and their baggage and possessions. It takes a great number of humans a great amount of time to complete this task. There is room for improvement when, on average, only one of every ten cargo items is scanned. We propose an artificial intelligence system able to handle work that currently only humans can do. It will not take any human personnel to operate. The travelers will just have to put their own baggage in the scanner and pick it up on the other side. Our proposed unit will have the capabilities to identify which traveler owns the baggage identified as dangerous and notify security personnel. This system will reduce the need of much labor and will potentially reduce costs for the airlines. More importantly, it will be more efficient than current ones in terms of speed and accuracy. That means better screening and faster security clearence.
Task Four - Commercial Manufacture

To whom it may concern:
We are from the OSSM Regional Center in Enid, OK. We are working on a school project for the Internet Science and Technology Fair (ISTF). We have to propose a product that applies directly to our area of research, and then send an email to a company that could possibly manufacture a product very similar to the one we proposed. We have seen the different scanners that you already manufacture and thought you would be a good candidate for a company to manufacture our proposed product. Our product is described as follows:
In today’s airports there is a growing need for security measures that ensure the safety of the travelers. It can take up to two hours or more just to get through airport security. Today’s current state of technology isn’t efficient in screening people and their baggage and possessions. It takes a great number of humans a great amount of time to complete this task. Our proposed unit will have the capabilities to identify which traveler owns the baggage that it has identified as dangerous and notify security personnel. This system will reduce the need of much labor and will in theory reduce cost strains on the airlines, but more importantly, it will be much more quick and efficient.
Could you evaluate this proposed product and determine if it would be worth the work and effort to manufacture. Thanks in advance for your time.
