Task One - Forecast
An increased demand for artificial intelligence research will be need to ensure the proper development of the object recognition system. There won’t be noticeable increase in the development of X-ray scanners because the technology in this area that will be implemented into our product is already available. The personnel that operate these machines today will be able to operate the new products tomorrow with ease. There won’t be any new training involved in the operation of the new machines. If these machines are able to be developed and installed in airports, it will bring about the increase in efficiency that could very well bring more passengers to the airports and save many airlines from their current states of bankruptcy.
Task Two - Related Degrees
Cognitive Robotics-Graduate
Here is a brief description of the course from the MIT webpage: “Cognitive robotics addresses the emerging field of autonomous systems possessing artificial reasoning skills. Successfully-applied algorithms and autonomy models form the basis for study, and provide students an opportunity to design such a system as part of their class project. Theory and application are linked through discussion of real systems such as the Mars Exploration Rover.”

Artificial Intelligence
This is a brief synopsis of a undergraduate course related to artificial intelligence:
“This course provides a broad technical introduction and a survey of core concepts of artificial intelligence (AI). Topics include: history of AI, agents (environments, reactive agents), search (search space, uninformed and informed search, constraint satisfaction, game playing), knowledge representation (logical encodings of domain knowledge, logical reasoning systems), planning (search over plan space, partial-order planning, practical planning), uncertainty (probability, Bayesian networks), learning (inductive learning, linear separators, decision trees, boosting, reinforcement learning), and perception and cognition (natural language, machine vision, robotics).”

Task Three - Prospective Degree
An undergraduate degree program in computer science that might emerge due to the advancements in artificial intelligence is Visual Recognition. In this class you would learn about robotics and artificial intelligence. You would also learn about visual imagery and other things of that nature, and then you would learn how to program computer systems to recognize certain objects for things such as baggage scanning. As a final project, the students could make a robot that could recognize dangerous materials, such as guns, drugs, bombs and knives. The robot could also use reasoning skills to get to a place when there are obstacles in the way.
